Bismillah, alhamdulillah, a poem reflecting on our desire for a perfect place in this world (2016)

I wonder how green you really are

Misty lakes of districts afar
I wonder how green you really are
While sandy scapes fill my eye
You stand verdant under a blue sky

Where I am, sandy it is true
But the sky here always remains blue
Your greens falter and whither
Under clouds grey and the onset of winter

Truly hearts are in constant quest
For a beauty beyond Everest
Horizons beckon elusive and far
Beyond our grasp like a setting star
